Testing Methodology
How we evaluate the gear we write about — and how we label what we know.
Aperture Daily publishes three kinds of product content, each labeled clearly on the page:
Hands-on review
We physically used the product. We describe our real experience and real results, and we never claim testing that did not happen.
Research-based review
Analysis built from published specifications, manufacturer documentation, and reputable third-party reporting — without hands-on use. These are clearly labeled so you know we did not handle the unit.
Product profile
A structured reference page (specifications, pricing, compatibility) rather than a review. No performance claims are made.
What we measure
Where applicable we report resolution, low-light performance, autofocus behavior, video quality, build and value — but only to the extent our methodology (hands-on or research) supports.
Sources and corrections
We cite sources where practical, correct errors transparently under our corrections policy, and update evergreen content with a "last reviewed" date.
